Rescuers in Lagos extracted seven survivors from the rubble of a 21-floor apartment building that collapsed on Monday.
At least seven people were killed but many are still missing.
According to workers, the high-rise building had been under construction for two years.
It is not yet known what caused the collapse of the building.
Observers blame shoddy work by private developers as well as weak enforcement of building regulations in Nigeria.
According to officials, many workers were caught inside the building when it collapsed.
The authorities were confronted by crowds at the scene that vented their anger at the slow pace of the rescue operation.
